your property and install the new line, (2)immediately
following this a New Edge technician will perform a
Final Test on your line, (3)DSL Installer will
schedule a time convenient to install your new Fat Pipe
Service.

Prevent
Delays -
2 week delay

Ironically, the telephone company does not do a very good job
with communication. When the phone company comes out to work
on the telephone box, they may not even attempt to make contact
with the customer. This is fine unless they have difficulties
accessing the demarc. Often times they will only make feeble
attempts, if any, to contact with the customer about this before
leaving the site. And this failure to configure the demarc will
result in a delay of at least a 10 business days with the installation,
as that's the soonest Qwest will come back out. So make every effort
to remove anything Qwest personnel could view as an obstacle, such as
your ferocious, yapping Chihuahua, overly healthy shrubbery, or an
easily unlatched gate. ;^)
In all seriousness, doing your part to prevent delays is crucial
to a timely install. DSL orders already involve enough complicated,
time-consuming testing and provisioning without having to endure an
additional two week holding-pattern. We recommend placing a sign in a
very conspicuous place that notifies the technician you are inside
awaiting their arrival and/or where your demarc can be located, even
if you will be there."
